With all the kingfishers posted I thought I'd dig up a old shot that's never been posted and join the party.

Heavy crop taken with my sold 30D and 300 2.8 + 1.4TC. If i'd just had the 600 I would have been sitting pretty. These guys are blind or 1200mm material.

I've got about 100 kingfisher shots and all of them are low quality.

Nice shot, I've spent weeks trying to get a shot and was overjoyed when I captured two last night at the local pond. They had moved to the pond as the river was in flood and were much easier to photograph - all you ever see on the river is a blue flash:mad:

Thanks for posting this Kingfisher Allen...its great profile. They are a very interesting bird and a real challenge to capture (I'll keep trying and hopefully will have 100 non-keepers too :D)
