A big seagull past by direction west. I was curious what the picture would look like if I would shoot it against the sun. What do you think about it?

I like it but I don't know why. It's got a lot of negative space but somehow captivates me.
How did you not go blind? Didn't your momma ever tell you not to look into the sun? ;)

No idea but I am asking whether it could damage my camera?

Don't know about its damaging you camera, but I have read and pretty
much understand how it can damage your eye. Canon even goes so far as to
say that when laying your camera down and leaving it unattended outside
for more than a few minutes be sure to attach the lens cover, lest the sun
use your glass to set fire to any surrounding dead foliage.
