I have a Canon dedicated Sunpak (444D) flash that works fine with my Elan 7e. However it will not fire on a D60 that I have borrowed while a Canon 550EX will. What am I missing?

The D60 and all other EOS Digital cameras have a different flash metering system than their film predecessors. The Canon EX Speedlites are designed for both.

I'm not at all sure what the max trigger voltage is on a D60 but...the 444D is listed here (http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html) as having more than 6v trigger voltage. Not much more, but on a borrowed camera? I'd not use it even if I could get it to work.
