YES! I am serious. I really do want one of these things. Contact via PM or email dadarby@cox.net. I have perfect feedback here as well as FM and EBAY (dadarby6900). I would be willing to work a trade as well if that trips anyones trigger. I have most of the main player L lenses except for the supertellys.

 I will buy a Mark III before I spend $4200 on a 50-1. Hey thats not a bad idea when they become a little more readily available.

There is also a 50/1 on ebay for <$3800 and a couple on KEH for <$3700. I am eternally patient. I will stumble onto one at a decent price sooner or later. Anyone got one out there they want to turn lose of for $2200?

Why not just get the 1.2? A much better lens...

The 1.2 is not a 1.0, and I like taking pictures is almost absolute darkness. In this type of invironment IQ is not the the be all and end all, but the 1.0 absolutely is. That extra 1/2 stop of light makes all the difference in the world, and don't tell me to jack up the ISO with the 50 f/1.2, its not the same, well on second thought maybe it will be now with the Mark III and its, from what I have heard, outstanding high ISO performance. Hmmmmm, imagine, a Mark III, at ISO 3200 or 6400, with a 50/1.0 hooked up to it. Xray Vision. Perhaps a new standard of performance. I like it!

I have used a 1.0 extensively, and it is an absolute light eater. I like to call it the "black hole".

I do have the 85 f/1.2 II and usually if I want the 50 mm perspective I take about 5 steps backward. The 50 f/1.2. is a good lens, but it "aint" that much better. I have tested it out, better than average, except for the close in focusing issues. BTW, the 85 f/1.2 II is the absolute best portrait lens available.
