My first attempt at a silhouette (gnome on a swing)

Couldn't sleep last night since someone decided it would be fun to shoot off fireworks at 1:00am in the neighborhood. So I sat on the front porch and snapped off a few.

I probably should have bumped down the ISO and increased shutter time. Hopefully with time I'll get a little better :)

that's a really cool picture! I looked at the larger version, and it looks a lot better than the little image you posted here. the red tones on the houses at the bottom give it a weird look against the sky, and it's really awesome how the little gnome just comes right out of the sky.

I hate being woken up like that. My desire is to do something destructive and/or harmful. Fortunately, I keep a good, strong leash on that particular desire.
