A wine glass shot with a keychain LED spun around from the inside out.

The colors were added during the post-production in Photoshop.

C&C always welcomed ...

Judging from the complete lack of replies, I guess this is not as cool as I thought it was. Hehehehe!

I love the shot. What exactly do you mean by keychain LED spun around from the inside out. Explain. I want to try this!
Also EXIF would be helpful. And also if you could show your set up.

The shot was done in the bathroom with the door shut. Lights off.
The glass was on a piece of glass over black velvet that stretched up above the glass to make the back.
I set the camera to 15 seconds, ISO100, at 5.6/f.
Set the timer release for the trigger.
Turned on my Inova Microlight (http://www.amazon.com/Inova-Microlight-LED/dp/B000AL70TI) and held it in the bottom of the glass.
When the trigger released, I started twirling the light by it's ring and pulling it out to the top of the glass - and then all the way out as I continued to twirl it.Hope that that helps!

The colors are very patriotic...It's a neat effect though. This looks like an octopus tentacle or something.

I think I might like the composition better if there were more negative space at the top...

-BruceThank you Bruce. There is not a lot more to the explanation then what I gave above. It was rather simple in it's execution, but just looks complex then it is.
I guess one more thing that may help explain why the light looks like it does is: the LED has three settings.

On-full.
On-half.
BlinkThis shot was with it set to on-half. The only reason I can see that the light was not just a solid 'spring' coming out of the glass is that, when it is on-half, the LED is pulsed at a tremendous rate, giving the appearance of it being dimmer to the eye - but you can not fool the CCD/CMOS - it sees all.
