Hey guys.

I just finished editing a shot and when I go to save it, the only options it gives me to save it as is psd, cineon, large doc., ps pdf, ps raw, png, and tiff.

what would be preventing me from saving it as .jpg?

you are working in 16 bit mode? If you want to save it as jpeg you need to convert to 8 bit first.

Best regards,

If you are working in 16 bit, don't forget to save the 16 bit file before converting to 8 bit and saving to JPEG - otherwise you can never recover the other 8 bits.

If you need to convert colour space, you should do so in 16 bit before converting to 8 bit. This is particularly important if you're using a very wide gamut colour space in 16 bit, such as ProPhoto RGB - if you convert colour space after converting to 8 bit, you could well finish up with unwanted posterisation.

Two more things
1/ If you already changed the background layer to different ones
2/ It has more than one layer on the file.
In these cases, If you want to save as JPEG, you have to flatten the image first.
Hope it work
