Having just returned from a trip to the west coast, I have been working on making prints for a photo album. Most of my photos were taken with a 6 MP Canon and some with a 2.1 MP Olympus. All the photos looked about equal on the PC monitor but the 6 MP images appear to print darker. Is there any possibility that the greater number of megapixels in the images result in a darker print?

I hate to say "not possible" -- but in this case, I will.

You have 2 very different cameras. Perhaps you are shooting in different color spaces (see page 58 of your 10D manual).

More generally, shots coming out of a P&S camera, *if* correctly exposed, are more likely to be ready for printing than those coming out of the 10D. You may need to adjust sharpening, contrast, etc. in the 10D parameters (page 56) to get equivalanet out-of-the camera results.

Better yet, if you're not post-processing your images in an image editing application, now's the time to start.

BTW - are you talking about comercially processed prints or prints from your home photo printer? And ... how good is your monitor, is it an LCD or CRT, and is it calibrated?

Hope you had a good trip. :)

Thanks for the comments...... I did do some minor post processing on all of the prints. The most likely culprit is that the color space is different. I post processed on a CRT monitor.

You have to have a calibrated monitor for consistency between monitor and print. You also should try to always do your editing under similar lighting as your eyes adapt to different light levels.
