The Scott Smith Lighting Magic seminar ended today and was a great success. He's a fantastic instructor and I think everyone there learned a lot. Plenty of info and some hands-on time for the groups. The first day alone was worth the price of the class. Other classes I have taken were just a brag-a-thon by the instructor showing off thier work, but not teaching anything. But not Scott. He teaches LIGHTING and how to do it.
All of us here really want to thank Scott and his daughter Jennifer for going to the trouble of loading all the equipment into his van and driving all the way from Dallas to Phoenix.
PS Rumor has it that a couple of folks are trying to get him to do one in Southern California.

I have to agree with Terry. This class was worth every penny I paid. Besides being a good instructor, he's a truely nice person!

I followed his input in the 'barn door' discussion in the lighting section and was delighted with the plain english comments he made. I am really glad he made the trek for you guys.

I wonder how he feels about Australia as a destination...

My only real complaint about the class is it is was 2 days long. I could have spent a month or so learning just the raw basics from Scott. He did a great job with the class. This is the first time I've felt I got my $$$'s worth out of a seminar. If you get a chance to attend one of his seminars...DO SO! You will not be disappointed IMO. I think we all took something from the seminar... from the professional shooters to the rookies. Scott is a very nice person with a passion for his craft. He keeps things simple (as they should be) and he takes the time to address the questions we all had.

A great class all around IMO.

Thank you Terry for all your help...without you.(and Scott) we wouldn't have had such a great learning experience.

Take care,
Hatch

I took his seminar two years ago in Dallas and have to say it will change the way you think about lighting. Scott is an excellent instructor and his lighting book is an excellent teaching aid to get you where you want to go.

What a wonderful two days!!! Scott is a fantasic instructor. I would recommend this seminar to anyone who needs a little lighting help. I'll never again look at a portrait the same way.

Thanks Scott and Jennifer, you have helped me in so many ways.

Thanks to Terry for setting this up and making it happen.

Hello to my friends who commented here about my seminar in Arizona. Sorry for the long delay in posting a response. Thank you most kindly for the favorable comments. It was an enjoyble journey and we has so much fun especially on Sunday when some of the girls brought in funny dressup stuff. Never had that before but there was a lot of laughter and fun for those who were there. Thanks for being part of the fun.

Again sorry for the delay in responding. Have been planning my October lighting and posing seminar for Fort Worth which takes up a lot of time. My life has also become even more busy with my teen daughter in high school with the marching band taking up unbelilevable amounts of time, and trips to school for practic and games etc etc. They seem to feel that they own you 24/7.

I am hopeful to find a little time to perhaps answer a few questions on the forum here and there. Thanks again for the kind remarks. I was very nice to make some new friends.

Warm wishes,
