View Full Version : My first wedding! A little nerve-racking at first!
SHULTSIE!!!

Hey guys, C&C's are greatly appreciated. Here are a few from my first! I kept my 430 on for fill and natural light for the larger portion of the day. I used my 17-55 for 97% of the day. My 70-200 performed a little less than par since it was lacking the IS. Let me know what you think...

Love that ring shot. All three are nicely exposed and have great color. :)

With a leaf blower?! :p
3rd pic is the best, shooting down is more flattering. #1 i'd go in closer. #2 she looks great he looks half asleep.

Just used my 17-55. 17mm f/3.5, 1/500 no flash. He does look a little out of it...

I like #1, but her rings are on wrong aren't they?
Isn't it correct to wear your wedding band closer to your heart, on the inside?
That's the only way I've ever seen it at least...

I'm not quite sure about that. She never took the engagement ring off prior to the ceremony...

I think they're pretty good for your first one, was it all done outdoor?

Yes it was. Fortunately, the weather cooperated & the skies were pretty clear, with a few puffy clouds about. The drawback was the 99 ° weather that lasted through the early evening. I had my 430ex mounted on which fired from time to time.

the way i heard is the one with diamond is on inside so it wont fall off!! id rather lose the "cheap" wedding band then the expensive one!

I think it depends on the culture. A lot of cultures wear the wedding ring on the right hand.
I usually don't care for selective coloring, but I think it really works well in #4. It caused my eye to be drawn to the way the bride was looking at the groom while everyone was making a fuss over her dress. Very sweet.
The ring shot is absolutely gorgeous!
Great job for your first wedding.

Judi,
Thanks for the complements. The photo seemed busy to begin with. I thought this would centralize the focus on the 2 love birds.
I would have to say that the ring-shot is my favorite...
No comments about the hair? j/k.
Thanks again!

Very nice, especially for the first time. His hair totally spoiled the shots he is in since the mess is totally distracting. Next time he should use a better weed wacker. She deserves better.

I agree with all the comments about the hair... there's stylish messy and just messy... BUT, it's his wedding, and that's probably his style. I thought the same thing when I first saw him, but my girlfriend, who helped me that day, brought up the fact that it's his style... can't knock a guy for that... The bride obviously saw past that... Thanks for all the comments!
