Come up with amazing inspired photo opportunities AFTER they've left the wedding?
Seems to happen everytime for me. Even when I get some great shots, I still regret shots I didn't take. :(

I am soooo glad you said that!!! I was just coming on here to say how down I feel because there was so many shots I wish I had taken last night, but didn't (mostly because we only had 10mins for B&G shots). I feel that every time, too. I see the pictures and I say to myself, "I could've done that, or this," or, "why didn't I think of that then?? That would've been so cool!" Sometimes I'm so focused on staying on schedule, or thinking about composition, lighting, flash, exposure, etc., etc., that I don't always see what I could be seeing. That's why I try and go to the site, or at least look on the place's website to get ideas, but I feel that way, too. Grrr...

If you live in the area with the bride and groom, you could always see if they are willing to re-dress up and go out so you can get those shots. And, since you will have more time with them, you might even get some greater portfolio potential shots. I know a bride(friend of mine in another state) that asked for this recently from another photographer and he got some amazing shots. She was all excited to get dressed back up in her wedding dress and bragged that she got to wear it twice! lol. She was excited since she paid so much for her gown. Luckily, her husband was more than happy to tag along to get the shots that they had missed out on the opportunity to get. :-)

And I can still fit in mine. Barely. ;)
Edit: Sorry for the OT post. I ALWAYS end up kicking myself after every wedding or portrait session for forgetting something.

I often forget something, usually nothing too important, but my biggest regret is usually brides and grooms who don't have enough time for photos and whos photos aren't so good beacuse of that.

Always lots of things that I wish we had done differently after the event, and I completely agree with what Tim says about time were given on the day, we always try and work with what were given time wise and let the B&G enjoy their day but its difficult when the B&G have talked before the wedding about wanting this shot and that shot and this etc etc and then on the day they dont want to give you the time ... tis a balancing act between not being pushy and also giving them the shots you know they want.
As I am shooting more weddings I am definitely "seeing more shots" as the list of shots that we have done at previous weddings grows and as I recall from the MOWP2 dvd one of the photographers on there was saying that he still misses shots even now but the amount he misses is a lot less than it used to be and it goes down with each wedding he shoots..... I think thats so true even when you very new like I am.

My problem is I usually forget some of the 'safe' shots!! I get so caught up in trying to get new and creative stuff, I sometimes forget the boring safe shots! ugh... and that can really come back to bite you in the butt.
