I asked this question on the S3 forum but did not get much of a reply so maybe you guys can help me.

"I was just curious about enlarging images [ blowing them up ] for big prints... Say [ using the mod ] I take a RAW picture with the S3, after converting it to DNG I open it up in CS2. When I do this it takes me to this window where I can edit the raw and stuff. An option is to increase the size [ or decrease ] up to a maximum of 19.x MP resolution. Now what I want to know is if I blow the RAW up this way will it yield better results than if I blow up the identical Jpeg in CS2 via "Image Size". Or will blowing them both up [ in there respectful methods ] to the same size yield the same results quality wise? Or is there an advantage blowing up a RAW over a Jpeg?"

Thanks
Mikhail

Enlarging the RAW will certainly give better results then upping a JPG.

The other option would be to use a third party app like Genuine Fractals to up-size. If you get the PS plugin, you can open the file from RAW and then enlarge it with GF.
