Taken At 6.15am

Coming downstairs with my camera (Canon EOS-10D & 28-90mm lens) turned it on just as my wife came out of the lounge. The only result is as shown (I apprecaite you want two shots per topic, but I only got this one - hope it is ok).

Comments please as I am trying to learn about photography and am always keen to learn.

You did a nice job balancing flash with ambient light in this one. I don't know if that was by design or by luck. ;)

You have a beautiful subject. "Surprise" shots like this rarely yield a flattering expression though, and the background is a little messy. I don't think I would call this one a "keeper". I rather doubt she would, either.

Keep shooting that lovely woman, perhaps in more aesthetic surroundings and without the "sniper" approach. No doubt you'll make some pictures that both photographer and subject can be proud of.

Your early morning wife is quite lovely. The image doesn't do her justice I'm sure. Do you have a wife for the later morning, afternoon or evening?

Thanks for the replies.

This is actually my favourite shot of my wife but I appreciate the comments about it being dark - it was & is.
