Brian..that's pretty awesome. I bought an old Canon ML-3 ring flash for 100.00 from a local camera shop and de-soldered the internal wires to get it to work with my 20-D.

Terraform, could you tell me how to do that? I still have an old ringfalsh sitting around somewhere.

Wow that's actually pretty clever. And I'd imagine it would work very well for macro based on the sheer size and positioning of the ring.

The ring is just too big for most circumstances, IMHO. Also, it's not cheap.....it has to work with a 580EX or Nikon SB800.
