Hi everyone,

Enjoyed looking through and thought I might contribute my first post in Urban.

January 2007, Copacabana Beach has these small little beach huts all along the main beach, we stopped for a beer and I could not resist capturing this lad on his break.

Thanks for looking in.

Cheers
Andrew

Nice one. I feel bad for him. He has a boo-boo on his knee:( Colorful photo. Did you wake him up with your photo-taking?

I felt bad for him as well, Copacabana is such a clash of the very rich and very poor with very little in between.

That's actually a bad graze on his knee and no I didn't wake him, only took the one snap. I'm still overcoming my reluctance to take street pictures, I feel I'm intruding when I point a camera at people. I know we can all stare at times but pointing a camera is another thing all together.

Thanks for the feedback Yiskah.

I completely understand about photographing people on the street... I tend to snap them too quickly and end up with blurred shots! Once in a great while, I'll take one, but usually when they are asleep (like your guy), very drunk or looking the other way! My reasons are the same... I don't want to be intrusive! We'll both have to work on that... but still not become paparazzi-ish;)

Poor guy must be quite tired... That's a good capture though I would like it zoomed out a bit to see what else is happening in his environment. About street photography, just keep at it and soon it will become second nature. Welcome to the Urban section, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the advice and comments you two. I'll keep working at it as I do find it interesting.

As for the welcome, thanks and it's good to be here.
