Great shot. I love the soft colors.

thanks! the colour work was a desaturation of all colour channels, and leaving only about 30% on just the red channel. turned out a little bit different than a straight sepia look. here's the full colour version.

I like the image. For me, the steering knob is distracting I would have cropped it out and isolated the boys face more. Also crop a bit more from the top.

I like the original image best - IMHO, tgmaroney has added too much colour.
Either way, a very good image.

Love the de-sat color..
I do like the smaller crop.
Great picture.

Nice Job!!! I love the composition. I think the desaturation adds to the photo.
Once again nice work.

i like it a lot. Thank you for not doing b&w with selective coloring.
definitely a good image. maybe play with the crop a bit if you're bored...but its good the way it is too.

hi all. thank you for the kind C&C. i'll try playing with the crop a bit, but the square original crop still looks best to my eye. will definitely try other crops though. also, the desat version is my fav so i'll keep that one.
Cathpah - interestingly enough, my wife keeps asking me to do this pic in b&w with selective colour on the hat. i keep telling her "no", but she's insisting (unfortunately). i too think that the b&w w/ selective colour has been a little overdone.
any other c&c still welcome. i also have some other great shots from this shoot. my son is a real ham for the camera :)

Has that "old school" faded look. Gives it a feeling of recalling an old memory. Nice job :)
