My friend Frank recently built his custom "Pendejo" chopper and is looking to get some shots. So I had to volunteer. I want to get into this kind of product delivery with a friend of mine who builds very expensive custom bikes such as this one. What's another $500 for a full on photoshoot with a model on your bike and a couple poster prints for the garage? ;)

One of my first dry runs. Not the best place to shoot but it was quick and easy since it was a block from the owners house. He only wants electronic images for now.

Nice machine, the lettering on the tank looks like it's 3d but I'm assuming it's paint.

Fantastic idea on the DVD and really shows some class :)

One of my first dry runs. I'm looking forward for the "wet run" with the model? :D
Seems as if there's an opportunity there for a book of his bikes? I think that Blurb ships to the UK, too.

I might have to pitch that to him as well. I have no shortage of models wanting to do bike shots. The trick is finding the right one, right look. If I could hook up with a temp tattoo artist and maybe get some make up done it could take off with other owners as well.

that's what i was wondering. the bike looks fantastic, and that second shot rocks, but does the owner understand he's riding around on something that says "STUPID" on the gas tank??

The word was chosen as a slang derivative:

pendejo

Spanish slang for "a$$hole"

Tu eres un pendejo Pedro! - You are an a$$hole Pedro!

I just learned something. All these years I thought "pendejo" meant "p_$$y."

And those are some great shots of that bike! :)

In Cuba it means pubic hair. Tex-mex slang differs from region to region as well.

I like #3 for the artsy fish eye look. I like also the cd cover. Try softer light like sunset or sunrise just before the sun creates those nasty shaddows. That works great especially for long exposures on a tripod. But when you shoot a model you will need the harsh light to freeze your model. So for that, try using some reflectors. Just my 2 cents.

There was generous fill flash during this shoot as well. And it was at 5:30 pm. Any later and there would be no direct sun. It went behind the trees as we were wrapping up. Think really tall Douglas Fir trees.

I will pick a far better location next time with a better light source.

Never been a fan of these shots to be honest. I like them better when they have a backdrop.
