This is just WEST of the main city skyline that most people associate Chicago with (Sears Tower etc). RAW image straight from the camera...haven't had a chance to make any adjustments.

I would probably crop the top half off. Other than that - it's a pretty incredible shot. Great colors in the sky and a cool looking city.

Thanks for the suggestion. I agree, the top needs to be cropped.

Actually, I like it as is. Plus, the top empty section gives plenty of room for editorial content. I'd make 2 variants, cropped and non-cropped, that way you get the best of both worlds. Very nice shot, love the colours.

I think the top should stay on. It tells me that even in Chicago, we are a dot in the universe. Nice shot.

Here's another from that series...I have a few and I randomly chose this one.
Straight from camera. Only RAW to jpeg with NO adjustments what so ever.
I plan to crop/remove some of the extraneous stuff at the top corners. And I think it would be better with some adjustments in photoshop.

I'm also not sure how to deal with straightening. The horizon looks ok to me, but because of the 24mm, the Sears looks like it's leaning. Any suggestions on how to fix this???

That looks like you were south of the loop when you took those shots. Very nicely done. These shots remind me that I need to get out more

Looking at this photo, you had a good opportunity to get some fantastic colors. I like the silhouette of the Chicago skyline. I'm assuming you used your 12-24 here and one thing I would recommend when doing these types of shots is to watch what your lens does when you are composing. The leaning look of the Chicago Tower is due to lens distortion. You can do this quick fix in PS by going to filter>distort>lens correction. See if that works. Cheers!

The skyline of the 2nd picture is awesome!

Very nice! I don't think I'd crop too much off the top on the first photo. Both are really super.

I would also clone the craneon the right and the thing on the left.
