....from an incoming RWB. I was too close to the feeder, so needed less lens (an uncommon statement for a birder :)) Perhaps the problem could be solved with a second body to use the 70-200 with :D

Great catch Scott. These birds around here are always messing with each other. The other day a juvie sparrow was sitting on my lawn table and a dove was at the feeder right behind him. The dove was done and turned and hopped onto the sparrow like a little springboard, then took off. I laughed so hard all the birds took off. They get along, but they're just kids. :D

Yes they are fascinating to watch. This is a feeder on a viewing platform at the wetlands my wife and I visit regularly....we will see six or seven different species 'sharing' the feeder at the same time (they seem to work out a pecking order, however there are often dust ups between the Cardinals, Blue Jays & RWB's). I really need to use the 70-200 and spend some time at the feeder as it does provide some interesting opportunities for capturing these 'bird wars'.
