According to the tests with the DXO analyser in the french magazine "le chasseur d'images", the results of this lens in the Canon 300D / 10D are:
Distorsion: 4/5
Vigneting: 1/5 they say is among the worst they have seen
Sharpness center: 4/5
Sharpness corners: 2/5

This lens is very soft at 12mm in the corner at all the diaphragms, and in the other distances full open.

You can get the full review in the 15march - 15 april issue.

Not my experience at all. I`m very happy with the lens, and in fact I like the 12-24 at 20mm more than the Sigma 20/1.8 or the EFs 18-55 at the same aperture. CA is very low even at the borders (only some red fringing in high contrasted areas below f/8) but sharpness is very consistent at all apertures and focal lenghts. One of my favorite lenses, and I used it extensively in my last trip. My only complaint is the propension to flare when the sun is near the border of the frame. Vignetting wasn`t an issue even at 12mm in normal scenes

I've had little time to test my new 12-24 yet...but so far i've been impressed. 12mm (even on a 10d) is very wide!
I'm really suprised the review jalafer refered too complained of vigneting! On a 10D? Maybe on a full frame camera? Did they leave that lense cap surround on or something?!
I haven't tested the sharpness on mine to see if it does fall off at the corners, but i've seen little obvious evidence of this. I have been trying to keep the aperture at f8 or higher, as what i have read about the lense suggests it performs much better up there.
Hope this helps, and hopefully i'll have some decent samples in the next couple of weeks!

Cheers
Chris

PS here is an "ok" sample :

Yes Guillermo, you are right these values were for the tests in the 1Ds
I'm sorry.
The results with the 300D/10D are better:
Dist. 5/5
Vign. 2/5
S.cent. 3/5
S. corn. 2/5
Global qualif. 3/5

This magazine seems to be very serious, and the tet machine they use is the DxO analyser, the same that The Luminous Landscape is using. Maybe the poor result is only because they test a bad copy of the 12-24.
Who knows...
