EF 70-200L IS USM for sport photography

Just wondering what people think of the 70-200L 2.8 for shooting sports such as cycling, running and swimming (i.e Triathlons).

It's fine if it's long enough.

you don't need f2.8 for outside sports either. i've used the f4 and f4 IS for cycling and triathlons .
