I am going to try and shoot my daughter with some fireworks sparklers.

How should I appraoach this?

a slow enough shutter to capture the fireworks nicely and a flash to light up the foreground (your daughter). I think that should work. Never actually tried it.

Thanks, thast what I was thinking, maybe fill flash with her holding sparklers...

if your camera has a bulb setting, you can use that to hold the shutter open and have your daughter move the sparklers, say in a figure 8, and then trip your flash to expose her. You end up with the "8" on the picture plus a nice exposure of your daughter.
