This weekend is RIOT OF COLOR. This can be anything from choosing a favorite color to shoot or genuine "RIOT OF COLOR/COLOUR" with as many conceivable colors in the spectrum that can be found. Have fun shooting.
The usual rules apply:
- take photos from sunup Friday until sundown Sunday
- post photos by Monday or when you have time.
- usual forum rules for image posting apply which means max 800 pixels on longest side and max 2 attachments.
Have fun.

Thanks for posting Becky. I hope I get some time to shoot this weekend. Between 3 softball games, some yard work at the folks house, and the UFC fight Saturday night I might be a bit worn out. Hey I might be a RIOT of color if I am not careful.

Well I went to a farmers market thinking I could get some great color shots, they had things under tarps mostly and the color cast from that was difficult to deal with. As I was getting in my car I saw this across the street.

I like both of those, Crissa. Very sharp. Which lens did you use?

okey dokey.. here is a bit of color. First shots from my new 30D, and whomp, PSCS2 won't read my files. Ok, it took me awhile to realize that I might need to go to Adobe and get a patch for the 30D, from the 20D. Got it all worked out not, so here is a bit of color. Too hot to do much outdoors, so one is from early morning the other indoors!

Very nice Crissa and Joayne. I particularly like Crissa's first and Joayne's second.
I did some shooting this weekend but not specifically for this week's theme. I have been trying to figure out whether or not I want to start shooting professionally and this past weekend I took my first step. There is a local men's slow pitch softball league that I played on this past Spring that also has a Summer league. I chose not to play this summer for various reasons but thought I might be able to step in and start shooting for them. They agreed and I shot my first game this weekend. I took this shot (my first of the day actually) after one of the outfielder's hit his head on the fence. His team rushed to his side and as they were walking back to the dugout I took this shot. I figured it fit the theme pretty good as I was going through them so I thought I would share.

Well, there are some great shots here fro last weekend - well done all who managed to get something.
Unfortunately, it is winter here and way too bleak to shoot for colour outdoors. At the moment my camera is semi-permanently in the studio while I try to work out some studio techniques and I was too bogged down in that to think creatively about colour indoors (like those candles(?) above).

This one is only two colours but I like the deep red that came out of this one yesterday mixed with the green:

Nice colors everyone. I went more with my original idea and chose my favorite color to shoot, in case it isn't obvious - purple. Even my flower plantings reflect my passion for this color:

Moccotino -- Don't know how I missed this until now. Lots of color in these shots. Interesting too. What/where was the event? And what is the instrument being play by the leftmost woman in the 2nd shot?

The event was an Air Show and Festival at Dartmouth, Devon, UK. The group of people are part of a band who make music from percission instruments. The instrument you refer to, is a series of small cymbals mounted on a frame. I believe that it was a purpose built instrument for the band.
It is a local saying that the Dartmouth Festival marks the end of summer, and it's usualy right!
