I would also like to get some critiques on some of my pet photography too. Here are some of a recent photo shoot with Greeson's Sweet Samantha:

I prefer the action shot.
The first makes me feel "dizzy". The second is nice but has a kind of haze. The third looks to artificial as if the dog was pasted in front of the bush.

The first two pics have a nice pose, but the first is best. I'd burn down the grass in the top half. Darkest at top to ligher in the middle. The light top edge make the picture fade away to the top edge. That, and add a little contrast will really make the picture 'pop'.
Thae action shats are also nice. Tone down the light grass, though. Don't try to completely eliminate it, just tone it down a bit.
good stuff...

nice action shots.. #3 looks as if the dog was cut and pasted over the flowers, the shadow behind the dog gives that away..
The others are Nice

Thanks everyone for the tips. I did actually cut and paste Samantha in that 3rd picture. I agree that I shouldn't have used the drop shadow, it does reveal too much that it is a cut and paste.
I will try the "burn down" thing - not 100% sure what that means, but I think I have an idea.
My favorite is the action shot as well!

I think I'd prefer that Samantha were looking at me. I find myself wondering what she's looking at? Do you have any like that?

I agree with lighthunter re: the first photo. However I really like the composition, so why not try it without the motion blur.

Just make sure that you understand what he means ....
... and maybe keep a water hose ready
How did you do the effect in the first picture? Objective motion or PS?
Best regards,
Andy

I also liked the first one best. The effect really draws attention to the dog.
I should do that with some of the pictures of my kids. Thanks, for the idea.
