Over on 'Canon EOS digital cameras' there has been a thread saying "wouldn't it be a good idea to post some post processing guides for newbies". Well here's one I prepared earlier:

I did this to explain the post processing I applied to a pic for a competition. It won't tell you how do do things, but might give an idea of what is possible.

Hopefully others will add more tips & tricks of thier own.

Very nice. Beautiful children shot in soft available light. Almost guarantees a good starting point for post-processing.

I personally prefer the Abi6 shot - before the final sharpening of the left eye. Sharpening eyes, lips, eyebrows, etc. while softening skin works on many portrait shots, but in this case, the overall soft look works well without enhancing the eyes (IMO).

Tough call - what to do with freckles!! My wife has them and I love them. But to please her, I tone them down a bit - just enough to keep her happy. But I do think they should stay. Your daughter (?) has wonderful freckles that look great on the full color shot. On the other hand, freckles on monochrome images are less appealing. What does your daughter think?

Noise Ninja gets a B. There's still a lot of noise in the shadows of the hair.

Thanks - a very nice contribution.
