I wonder if anyone else has had this problem and knows how to remedy it ?

I bought a 300D a few days ago and everything was fine. However, after a few days use, I have just noticed that my menu does not show anything like the number of options available in the manual.

I'm sure it wasn't like this on the first day I got it, so I'm wondering whether I've changed a setting by mistake.

For example, on the first menu page, I only have three submenus; quality, red-eye and beep. (RAW is no longer an option in the "quality" sub-menu, either !)

On the 4th menu page (settings 2) I only have language, video system, communication and firmware ver.

I've tried re-installing firmware 1.1.1 but it has made no difference.

Any ideas how I get myself out of this pickle ?

When you set the camera to one of the creative modes (P, Tv, Av, M) you'll get the full menu. In any of the other modes (green square etc.) the camera will choose many settings automatically for you and they're not available in the menu.....
