This is an experiment with focal length and repetition. Comments appreciated.

Theres an annoying line running down the church carpet. I tried to clone it away but the image just ended up looking smudged. Any bright ideas about how to get rid of it?

Cheers! :D

I don't have PS at work so I can't try this out but...

create a layer mask of the carpet
shift the layer to the right slightly
on the top layer, erase the line
the bottom layer should then show through, ie the shifted part of the carpet.

In theory that should work...

try under "noise"and go to "median" in PS. you have to select a rectangle arround the line first

Cheers DC, it worked a treat. My website is down at the moment , but when its up again I'll post the corrected image.

Any thoughts on the style? Does it work having the foreground out of focus?

Cool, glad it worked.

It does work as is with the OOF FG, but (and take this with a large dose of salt, I shoot wildlife  ) I had a thought. If you were able to shoot a similar setup with a stained glass window, either a whole one or just a bit of one, in the BG I think that would give it an edge. D'ya think ??
