Going to new zealand. question about electricity

So im going on a 1.5 month trip to New Zealand, its actually where i was born. Im pretty sure they use a different voltage or something though. So how do i charge my batteries for my camera and whatnot, because they plug into a wall socket and to my understanding the voltage wont work with what i have. Are there voltage converters or something that i can buy?

New Zealand uses 230 Volts 50 Hz AC.

Most battery charges self switch between 90 and 240 Volts. Look at the data place on the back of your carger.

The back of my Canon CG-580 says 100V-240V AC 50/60 Hz. That means it can be used in North America, Europe, most of Africa and New Zealand.

All you need is an adapter plug for the New Zealand wall sockets. You plug your charger into the back of the adapter and the adapter into the wall. When you move to a different location be sure to take the adapter with you and not leave it in the wall socket.

When you buy any electrical equipment you might want to be able to travel with make sure that it can use this range of voltages. Otherwise you need a converter which is heavier and more expensive and may not always work.

When I went to NZ and OZ, I purchased a charger there, it made things so much easier. I also found that while staying in hotels, they usually have a converter that you may borrow while there, it is best to make your arrangements a bit ahead of time so they will reserve it for you. The biggest problem I had was with my computer, not my camera. I ended up damaging the power supply. When I left, I gave the odd charger and bits to one of the people that helped me out there... worked out very well! Have a wonderful time in a magical place!
