Quick Q. on camera & air port security?

Ok I'm leaving tomorrow, but traveling by train down to London- but then flying back up the next day- what should I do about the whole x-ray things; do they damage CF cards or cameras? I'd imagine that enough people put them through so they must be ok- although I think you have to put everything through the scanners now so I have to... are they camera equip. friendly?
