Hi guys -

I have been looking for a backpack that would allow me to take my camera (and a couple lenses) with me on some of my longer runs. Any advice on a backpack that would be relatively light and more importantly be able to hold everything in place well enough to be able to run with it strapped on?

I do a lot of trail running in the mountains and get up to some pretty amazing places (and everytime I get there, I wish I had my camera!).

Any photographers out there who are also runners that can point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your help!

Sounds like you need an adventure racers backpack. I use a Salomon Raid Revo 20 SLAB Set, but you would perhaps need something smaller.

Olz - thanks for the response. Would the Raid Revo 20 be able to hold say a 1D MIIn and two lenses? And would they be secure so as not to damage them while I'm running?

I went to the web site, but couldn't find any photos of the interior of the bag. Any additional info you could give would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

It's not made to hold cameras and lenses so you would need some kind of insert or "bag in the bag"..., I guess it would be large enough though.

Maybe one of the "Rover" series from Lowepro. The Dryzone even holds a hydration system.

There used to be a Galen Rowell running bag, but haven't seen it advertised much, probably since I cancelled all my photo mag subscriptions. Don't know the quality, usefullness, just clearing out the cobwebs of my mind.

BE CAREFUL! Over in the main forum, I saw a post where a runner had his 400 mm lens separate from the camera inside while running. ouuuuuchhhhhhhh!

Can the camera stand that type and amount of vibration?
