I cant give you any number, but i can tell you that it adds a great amount...that is it balances out the body (especially with heavier lenses) much better then without it.

It's ok, we knew what you meant... i mean it would be rather useless without a battery pack 8)

don't even doubt it. the grip changes the camera. It's the most important piece of equipment after the camera itself. IMHO, it even comes before 50mm 1.8 ;) I hesitated for 3 month, but I was so glad when finally I got it. Unless you really like pocket cameras, go ahead and order it right now ;)

The battery grip to me is a really nice addition to the 300D. One problem I have with the Rebel is that the silver look makes it not look as (for lack of a better term) "professional". But having the battery grip on it makes the camera look much more 'manly' if you know what i mean :)

The grip is awesome!
The camera looks/feels more professional, plus you get longer battery usage, and handy vertical controls!
It's easily the best accessory for the Rebel.

Hmmm, no get the 50mm F1.8.
I wouldnt consider that an accessory.

I'm not sure about the weight. With 2 batteries I would say it weighs about 2/3rd of the actual camera. Just guessing though.

The grip makes the camera feel great especially with big hands.....! I have been using it for a while now but recently took it off for a couple of days. It then felt like i was using a point and shoot camera....! As for whether i would purchase it before the 50mm f1.8...... Hmmm thats a tough one..... I personally bought the 50mm before the grip but I hadnt got the 300D/Rebel then.... Its an amazing lens... buy the 2 of them......!

Get the battery grip, and also the hand strap. Once you figure out how to get the strap on, you won't ever want to take either off.

Awesome combo...

Speaking of making cameras look more "Professional", It never fails to strike me how unprefessional Kodak's camera look with PROFESSIONAL written right on it! :D

To add to what I said b4, the 50mm F1.8 isnt an accessory, it's a necessity!
