well heres my take on le tour.

starting with the prologue and the trip through my town of tonbridge.

Ive never shot cycling before, and it was a different experience, especially hanging over the barriers.

Prologue

thanks, does anyone have any advice on the group shots? as i found these the most problematic, trying to get more of the riders in focus etc..

i switched between single point focus to the whole field focus and still couldnt get everything in a smooth clear field in the image :(

would you still use center point focus though?

You would more often then not, you should have a large enough DOF to get them all in focus and not have to worry about certain riders being more sharp then others

Brilliant shots!
What camera/lens were you using?

My sort of shots, get right in there to see what is really happening, sort of shots I would have gone for, I was tempted to go, I only live 30 mins from TW, but knew it gonna be packed :(, and hard to find a good sport to take photos from

You did an excellent in-your-face tight close up job.

The last few are perhaps a tad underexposed.

Only offer of improvement I would make is to try panning with the rider to blur the background and show his speed.

Your shots are crisp and colorful.

im a big fan of panning with my images, only problem was due to the crowd being how they were and leaning over the barriers i wasnt picking the riders up in time, and the angles i was lent at meant i couldnt even hold a camera in portrait let alone pan lol!

thanks for the comments though, i think i needed a slightly slower shutter speed aswell.
