OK it's easy to comment on anothers picture, but we all make the same mistakes.

A lower angle around F11 (greater DOF) would have produced a better picture IMHO.
Nice colours though.

Lower angle as in more parallel to the beetle or perpendicular? All hints are welcome, as I'm just starting out.

Perpendicular or Parallel will work, DOF it important as well as getting the eyes in focus
