Saw loads of these at Leonardslee Gardens, Horsham on Sunday, havent seen them at other locations yet though, so nice to see lots of them still about. Used the 100mm for a change, but I must admit to still preferring the 60mm.

nice damsel like the first one the best. k how you get so close with the 60. i can't even get close with my 100. guess i better get better at my stalking skill. go figure and i hunt deer with a bow too and always get a deer every year with it.

Lovely shots Linda - Leonardslee is one of my favourite gardens - beautiful rhodies and camelias. Most of the rhododendrons in my garden came from seed I collected there :)
Never been macro shooting there though. Will have to give it a go.

Thanks Brian.

Yes, Leonardslea is a fabulous place, if you want damsels, take the walk to the very bottom lake, its 3/4 mile to get there (and back lol) but usually lots of white-leggeds there. Some dragonflies, but not many this year at the moment. Hundreds of meadow brown butterflies at the moment, but not in the mood for photographs lol. Oh and we saw 2 kingfishers as well, a classic view of one of them flying right from the lower lake, straight up the middle, over the walkway in the middle and into a bush :D
Plenty of funnel web spiders on the heathy side of the walk - have also seen a stoat in the past up there too.

Have you ever had the pleasure of meeting Robin? If not then check out the little hole in the wall to the left of the till as you go in. This must be the 4th year now he has been there. I got a fabulous set of shots of him last year quite by surprise - a little sequence here:

Thanks everyone for all your nice comments :D especially on #1 which seems popular.

I rather like white-legged damsels and they are actually quite good at staying still for photographs :D

Nice shots Linda. I agree with the others on shot 1; it's a cracker. Most damselflies will allow close approach so long as you approach slowly and carefully. Red eyed damsels are twitchy though. Love the robin set.
