I think the first one is a small skipper - maybe eccles can confirm for me please :D .
Took the skipper with the 60mm, and the holly blue with the 100mm which is slightly cropped as I couldnt get that near to it.

Lovely Skipper Linda, I think it could be an Essex skipper looking at the black tips to the antenna.

Thanks for your nice comments everyone :D The skipper is my fav too for quality, although the blue is nice, I wish it had been closer lol.

Nice shots Linda. I was wondering about the skipper as well as Alby. It's a female and they are especially difficult to tell apart. I think I'd have to go with small skipper though. The tips of the antennae look to me to be brown rather than black, and the trailing wing edges are too even - essex often have dark lines emanating from the rear wing edges.
