Hello Everyone. Friday was my first "difficult" lighting situation with my refurbed MKIIn. I shot a sparring session (a workout) with Roy Jones Jr. I was pretty happy to "cover" the event, but when I got home and opened up the pics I was a little dissappointed.

I shot the action pics with the mk2n at ISO 1250 f/2.8 in Av mode (the lighting was anything but consistent) averaging a shutter speed between 200-500 with a 24-70.

My question is, is this the amount of noise I should be expecting at 1250? I had my 5D with me as well for the slower shots and it did much better.

Anyway, if you could take a look and tell me what you think I would truly appreciate it. I would also like comments on the compositions as well.

Oh, I shot RAW and did some minor PP in CS3 ACR.
smart sharpen 100% .3 0
some exposure corrections and the default ACR noise reduction.
slight WB correction
Cropped most images (some probably more than should/could have).

I'm mostly interested in critiques/tips for the future of the actual sparring pics.

Thanks in advance,
John

I like the pictures. It is tough shooting through a fence, it can really distract at times. I would also cut down on your trademark logo, three is too much and causes the eye to wonder, IMHO.
