Just had to toot my own horn  Just got the email that for the second month in a row I'm getting a picture published in JPG Mag. Total luck, the photos really aren't that great, but hey I'll take the 100 bucks......LOL. Not bad for only submiting 7 photos total.

First one-.....Last month

Can I ask how much PP was done in the second one. It looks very good and very natural to me, like there was no PP done at all. Which makes me suspicious, because I can never seem to get a shot that good naturally.

Whatever you did, it looks great.

Where was the picture taken? It resembles some of the parts of southwestern New Mexico that I have been through.

Congrats. I don't think I've heard of JPG magazine though... is it a large publication? Maybe it's just not available in Canada or else I've just missed it. I'm always looking for interesting photography magazines... I assume you would recommend it?

Any chance I could get a 2560x1600 version of the second photo to use as a desktop on my 30" Apple Cinema Display? Thanks!

Ok... well let me say that if you don't think these images are all that great, I'd LOVE to see what it is you do like. Both of these images are incredibly well done. The first one just seems like a beat up old chair in front of a window of a house in ruins to the normal person, but to someone who has the eye, you can see a story here. The thing is, it's so perfectly composed and exposed that nobody is distracted by technical problems with the photo and you're just left with trying to figure out the story behind the photo. What's the chair doing there? Was it a favorite chair of someone who used to live there and look out the window? Was it used for disciplining a child? What happened to the people who lived there? How long has it been empty? Who left the chair there? I think that image is outstanding. This is the absolute epitome of Photographic ART!

The second image is a beautiful landscaped that is also perfectly composed, exposed, and focused. I'm not usually too much into landscapes but I can see that it warrants publication. Great job.

Great shots. I think both deserve the recognition you received.

Beautiful photo!

Is this out in Kayenta (which is actually in Ivins, Utah)??

EDIT: Actually, I know that's out in Kayenta. Red Cliffs is a great place to photograph and you captured it perfectly!!
