OK, here are my F1 shots from the British GP. I was there all weekend with most of my shooting being done on Friday as this was the best bet for getting around the circuit, however it was incredibly busy everywhere which was a bit of a surprise.
Kit was the usual 30D and Bigma.
1. Up close and personal with Lewis Hamilton.

7. A blurry arty shot of Raikonnen, not sure I've quite got the hang of these yet!

#3 is the pick of the bunch followed by #1. Some of the others are a little too tight, don't be afraid to shoot / crop a little wider.

Great work. No 3 is a wall hanger for sure :)

I Agree, no 3 is nicely composed but all are likeable good shots.
I was there on Friday, weather was mainly overcast and the wind was like being in the antarctic. Good old english July.
Never mind I retired to the Honda Paddock Club at someone elses cost to keep warm

Lots of good shots. Last one tells a good story. And I like the one of Raikkonen. Love the crop and the panning in the first shot too.

I like to see the car fill the picture, but this time just a wee bit tight.

Thanks everyone, glad you liked them. Cropping too tight is probably something I do a little too often to be fair so worth watching out for in future. I blame shooting football where the mantra is always crop, crop, crop!

Depends on your point of view really. Some people like to see a car fill the whole frame, and don't mind a little bit of it cut off in the crop. Some hate that.
I'm somewhere inbetween. At Silverstone it's quite difficult, as pretty much where ever you look you've got ugly clutter in the background. For example even the media, you'll see the classis shot of the cars coming over the brow exiting abbey approaching bridge, and theres an ugly green hut in the background. You have to get really low and right against the bank to get that out of view, and the marshalls don't always like that :P

Hi all. This is the first time that I have submitted anything on a forum and am very new to it all. I too was at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix over the last weekend and took hundreds of shots at Luffield with my 400D and a borrowed 100-400mm 'L' Lens.
Could someone please direct me as to where I can find some information on how I submit some of my pictures for your helpful comments. I am aware of the 'Attach Files-Manage attachments' option however from there I am a bit lost. I shot in Raw and have converted some pics to JPEG however at present they are approx 3 MB in size. I use a Mac and at present the shots are on iphoto.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not aware of the rules with regards to image posting here that much, because I haven't been here for a while, just came really to see if I could pimp my auction haha... which seems to be sliding down the list, but I'm not allowed to bump it so tough titties on that one.
Anyway back to your question. I suggest that you resize and compress your images a little bit, as no one wants to dick about waiting for 3MB images to load on a forum. If you can host them yourself, then you could use a img tag the url.
But I'm sure you can find all the rules else where on this board.

I'll start with the positive.
Seem to be in focus, and reasonably sharp, so well done.
On the Negative, I think you've cropped them to much, and the angle composition isn't pleasing to my eye and the wing mirror obscures the helmet something I always hate to see in my own photographs, although obviously to is quite tricky to avoid.
However I am fully aware of how difficult it is to photograph from the Silverstone spectator areas, especially in a big crowd. So wouldn't want to criticise too much since putting a variety into your work, is very difficult in these circumstances.

Thanks for your comments Jimages. I have attached 2 more...
EDIT: You asked for the rules about posting images and I did provide you a link but in your reading you obviously missed the bit about us allowing a maximum of 2 attachments per thread in fact you chose to attach 6... Moderator.

Hello again Jason.
Shooting at an angle can help add a little more dimension to a picture. But it is so very easy to over do it. Bear in the mind the background, if there is a building or construction it can very often look daft if your picture claims it rivals the leaning tower of Pisa (How ever that is spelt)
From a personal point of view, by that I mean this an objective opinion and not a fact, angled shots don not work very well on side on shots, unless the background is completely clutter free and there is a extra degree of motion blur to the image.
Angles tend to work better for 3/4 head on shots, again my person preference.
I try to shoot straight on all shots, unless it's from a vantage point that I know works well with a little angle. Remember you can always rotate an image later in photoshop if you think it needs that little extra something.
I know what you mean about seeing Raikkonens eyes/nose through visor. In my experience Mark Webber is best for that, since he tends to use a clear visor much more than the others. A lot of them use tinted visors, Kimi especially in his McLaren days. I'll fish out an example of my own to show you.

OOppss !!! Thanks Glen. What do I have to do to be allowed permission to post 7 images as JurekB at the beginning of the thread ??? I see that junior, member and moderator tags are alongside names, is this down to number of entries/posts that have been made by an individual ???
Consider myself told off !!!!!

Okay here is a small selection of shots I took at Jerez, each from the same vantage point (final hairpin at Jerez). Click on the images to launch a slightly larger version of each. You can even see the whites of Webber's eyes, and boy doesn't he look bored?! If that was me driving that car I'd be wearing a cheshire cat grin.

 Moderators get appointed by he who owns this place - Pekka. There are a number of user titles dependant on post counts. From memory they go Junior Member, Member, Senior Member, Gold Member and Cream of the Crop. There are also a number of custom titles (sometimes complimentary and sometimes not) which are given to members who attract the attention of the "Title Fairy" - Identity of said person is unknown.
As to being allowed to post 2 posts or 8 posts it depends where the photos are hosted. JurekB has stored his pictures on his own web space and linked to them using [ IMG ] [ /IMG ] tags. As such he is using his own bandwidth and storage to display the photos. When you "attach" photos as you did, you are using POTN's server to store the images and POTN's bandwidth to display the pictures. This costs the forum money (which is not in abundant supply) so we limit it to two per thread.
