First, you got a great model there and second most people would love a park like that near by :)

Now the not so good... Suds in natural springs, lakes and rivers is usually due to pollutants in the water. Hope she took a really good shower after that.

The first photo isn't very sharp and the suds detract from the effect. The second needed to be a bit faster in the shutter. She doesn't seem to be comfortable yet in front of the camera yet either – but thats just guessing at her expression.

Oh, and interesting tattoo's. What are they of?

The first was a good attempt! She seems a bit soft though (OOF or too slow of a shutter speed?) but otherwise it's great. I even like the pose. I just really wish it was sharp.

EDIT: EXIF says you used a good aperature (5.6) but you had a slower shutter speed (1/60) a higher shutter speed would probably have done it.

thanks guys...yea i was bummed about the sharpness of number 1 also.. but the tattoo on her hipbone means "passion for dance" shes been doing it her whole life and now teaches it. and the one on her foot says "italia"...she wanted it to say bella italia but they couldnt fit all that. and granted we probably wernt allowed but we added the suds are self, trying to make the pictures more..."fun"..haha.

Good start. You're definitely on the right track. I really think with a little light these could be fantastic. You'd get a faster shutter speed (so much sharper images) and some depth to the photo. The more shots you take of her the more comfortable she'll be in front of the camera and the better her posing will be :)

 As a biologist I would say shame on you. Detergents, even biodegradable ones, are hazardous to bacteria and animal life.

As a photographer, I can't wait to see some more pictures.

I am not a biologist, but I also think adding suds is a shameful act on the environment. I don't think the suds do anything for the photo but make the water look polluted. I would start by using fill light on her face and/or shading her face to get rid of the blotchy highlights on her face.(#!) The shots are not flattering for such a pretty girl.

Beautiful model! Lots of potential there!!

The first picture is a nice attenmpt, but both do look a little OOF.

What lens did you use? I had a Sigma 70-300 that took pictures just like that (kinda OOF no matter what Aperture or shutter speed I used), and when I sent it in for service I found out it had a construction problem with the elements inside of it...

Do you have any really sharp images with that lens?

Just looking through the thread again....don't even worry about the sharpness thing anymore...you have a big potential to get more/better photos later just by looking at everything other than the sharpness of the 1st photo. Lighting was great, pose was great, background was great, model was great! Nice work.

I would just say to watch the spotty light coming through the trees. Do you see how her nose is lit up with a hot spot in the first one? Good first effort though. Keep shooting and sharing. s

Good pics, beautiful model. Focus seems a little off. You should try again on a more overcast day. What lens did you use? Is it paid for yet? You should ask your Dad if you can borrow his 50mm 1.4 and a 580EX. He might let you. Try narrowing the DOF and separate your subject from the background. And stop putting soap in the water before I report you to the EPA.
