Good evening,

When i Power up my camera i get a Err 99 message. My issue is that i only get the message with the original 18-55 lens from Canon, but when i try on my canon 75-300 usm lens i dont get the message!

Anyone faced the same problem?

Check the lens (18-55mm) to make sure that the contacts are still intact and clean.

I just had the same problem with my new D10. I had to turn off the camera between each shot. I called Canon tech support and the guy had me take a shot with no lens installed and it still generated the Error 99 message. He said to send it back for a new camera, that it was something serious and would require serviceing. I'm waiting for my new replacement D10 to arrive this week. I'm using a Canon 50mm f/1.8II and a Sigma 28-300mm F3.5-6.3Macro. Here's one of the shot's I took even though at the time I was having focus problems and the error 99 message after each shot.

Got the camera the day of my vacation a couple of weeks ago and shot this at Mt St Helens in WA State using the Sigma lens.
