I always enjoy CSCC and JEC meetings, especially with a bit extra thrown in from the DDMC. Cadwell Park is one of those venues full of opportunity for interesting shots and two days this last weekend came up to expectation.

CSCC Tin Tops coming over the rise at the Goosneck:

An unusual angle for a three quarter top down pan shot. I have not seen one taken from here before:

Andrew Morrison's new car blasting away from the field in one of the DDMC races:

The Morgan Motor Company Challenge turned out a decent size grid and a tight battle at the front:

It wouldn't be the CSCC without a touch of old American muscle:

One very agressive Sunbeam Tiger:

A very quick MG Midget driven brilliantly by Bill Smallridge - the shot is square, the car is tilted:

Without a doubt the fastest car on track over the weekend. Under that Ferrari skin is the chassis of a Jedi:

I forgot the Jags. The weekend was full of them:

Some very nice shots here Ken. Like the one of Morrison's new Leon, and I'm looking forward to seeing it in action on Saturday. I've also had a look through the gallery on your website, and there's some equally impressive stuff on there too. I particularly like the other shot of the #16 Spead that's on there and the two startline shots from the second row of thumbnails.

As it turns out, the rain caused the last minute cancellation of the Autograss across in Penrith, so I could have made it down after all. Bloomin' typical.

Cheers,

Simon.

Beautiful shots as normal, the last shot is great, monoposto's are fanstatic!

Monopostos are fantastic - they are when they finish a race... My brother is in the Monoposto 2 litre championship and the last race at Mallory (2nd ever race) qualified 5th out of 21 in the pouring rain, but the race (nice and sunny) was red flagged twice with only 1 lap gone each time and was then abandoned. So £ 200 spent on race entry fees (plus considerable costs of getting car to Mallory) down the drain... Next race at Rockingham 21st July (photographer hell)

Anyway, great photos as usual, I particularly like the Morgans and the Honda Integra.

BTW: The Jedi was racing in the Formula Free, not Monoposto, although many cars are eligable in both - a series refreshingly free of rules and regs - Basically no turbos and the cars are split into classes based upon engine size and tub construction - ie tubular or carbon fibre. Its quite cheap as well, race entries about £ 100 per race.

Thanks for the comments folks, even the stepping stool one.

Simon, Andrew's Leon is in a different class to the rest of the field, by a very long way. Typical of Andrew he bogged down at the start but by the end of lap one he had about a quarter lap lead. Dave Botterill had a nudge that put his red Porsche out of action on Saturday, but Dave just used one of his spares on Sunday - spare Porsche, like a spare pair of sox.

Dave, you would enjoy Cadwell. It is best for two day events as you can spend more time in the numerous shooting locations. Nice of them to name the circuit after our moderator don't you think :)

I have Anglesey on Saturday and Croft Sunday - another busy weekend.

Do you think that Andrew is gearing up to enter the Cupra championship that supports the BTCC? The Leon certainly looks like one of those cars, but I guess it's what's under the skin that counts.

Dave justs lives around the corner from me, and you're right - it's a different world. I think he'll be out in the white Porsche that he runs in the Porsche Open Series this weekend, as I think the 944 is still down at Strasse getting fixed.

See you at Croft on Sunday.

Cheers,

Simon.
