In another discussion on Sharpening, a member mentioned a book by Scott Kelby . . .
"The Scott Kelby book lists 15 or 20 different variations - and not just with plain old Unsharp Mask, either!"
Anybody know which book covers Photoshop Sharpening in great detail? :?:

"The photoshop book for digital photographers" covers some basic and alternate USM settings, then delves into Lab sharpening, luminosity sharpening, edge-only sharpening, what he calls "extreme edge sharpening," sharpening with layers, portrait sharpening (red channel only) and selective sharpening for portraits.
You should also read gmitchel's recent post on sharpening in this forum; his PDF covers the current methodologies in sharp detail (pun intended) and his actions make life simple.

The book comes in two flavors. "The Photoshop Book" and "The Photoshop cs Book". I got the first as a gift and had marked it up well when I realized that I should have had the second. A quick email to the publisher and they arranged an exchange for me. Great book, great company to deal with.
