Taken on the Asbury Park, N.J. boardwalk Friday afternoon. I like it but
would also like to see some unbiased opinions and advice. Thanks.

I like it too, especially that pigeon in the bottom left. Perhaps it reminds me of the Shaw Shank Redemption. It looks like they are keeping each other company. I would crop it though. Hope you don't mind, but here's a suggestion.

In the first post I see a man looking out to sea at something.

In the second post I see a man with his head turned away like he was hiding it from having his photo taken.

For me, the first post tells more by far. Second one is not interesting to me at all.

Thanks for your responses. I cropped out all I thought was fitting to
the image. I left in the boat for its symbolism, and the birds in flight
for their detail. I have no objection at all to your editing, Big_B.

I agree with MrChevy, it doesn't need cropping, only if you want a more exciting composition but then I'd crop it the other way (man on the left). You said you cropped it yourself, I'm curious if you had his feet in the original pic because that's something I'm kinda missing that, perhaps you cropped it a bit too close, it's the sea, it's allowed to be huge. (And that was a whole field of crops in my post)

Ha, ha. Thought I cropped it. Now, after checking the raw file, looks like I didn't. Or, if I did I only cropped a teeny bit off the left side and maybe a little bit of sky..

Did you try it in mono?
