Well havn`t posted anything for a while, due to the weather! So I went back and trawled through the archives to see if there was anything I could show you guys that you havn`t seen yet, (there are lots but its whether I feel up to showing you the pictures of half a bird ;) ), anywho I found these, as I said they are a little old but I thought "what the heck show them anyway."

1/ First we have a few mellards coming expecting food, I dont have any though!

2/ They try that pleading look, but not being God I can`t make bread out of rocks.

188525

Couple more yet

3/ Then they realise I have no food and quickly move on to someone who did have food.............ahh there affections can be won so easily..............if you have food :) .

188527

4/ But ducks aren`t the only creatures that come only for the food......noooooo swans are the same.

Another couple yet ;)

5/ Then they too leave and find some food elsewhere, honestly with all there eating its surprising that they havn`t sunk to the bottom yet, but then all the fighting they do must keep them in shape somewhat. Maybe I will try to photograph that next duck and swan fights!

6/ And finally we have a whitethroat........................well I had to keep it neet and have two pictures on the last one as well........and he has food :D .

I do have a question though, how do you post more than two picks on one post, is it the privilige of ??? number of posts?

Nice shots Mark, I like the sparrow best. He even brought you food, but you didn't want it.

To post more than 2 pics you either have to host them on a server or get a free one like Flickr or Photobucket. You upload them there then use the picture icon to insert the links to the pics.

Errrrrrr.............tis a Whitethroat that Mitch, a type of warbler, allthough now that you say it does look a lot like a sparrow :) , when they lift their throat up they have a white patch...........hence whitethroat, but this guy (or gal) wasn`t complient.

Not sure about you, but bugs arn`t my kettle of fish ;) . Still maybe he was upset.....maybe.

Ok not being to internet savvy, you will probably have to walk me through hosting stuff and indeed where is best? And then how you get them from there to here..........sorry.

Mark

Oh and thanks for the kind words.

Well, I thought maybe he was a juvie White-throated Sparrow. Didn't know there was a warbler like that.

You can buy hosting from tens of thousands of hosting companies in the US alone. Personally, I use Godaddy. They have the best prices and the best deals. You can get the Economy deal with 5Gb of storage and 15Gb of transfer per month for $44 a year. You need to buy a domain name so there is an address for your site. Once you have both of those and set up, which you could do today, you can start uploading your images to your server space. It's just like looking at Windows Explorer but on a server. You see a bunch of folders and then files of one kind or another inside the folders. When you click once on a file in Exlorer, it will show the path to it in the location bar at the top of the screen. Looks like this:

H:\Blog\forumings07\animals\chipmunk-img_9164-071107.jpg

This image is in H drive, the animals folder inside the forumings07 folder which is inside the Blog folder on H drive in my computer. Once I upload that image to a folder I made on the server, the path to it then looks like this:

h*ttp://www.freeassociationblog.com/forumings07/animals/chipmunk-img_9164-071107.jpg

That is a real active link, the picture is on my server and when viewed in a browser, that link will open that picture on my server when you click on it.

So, to show that pic here in the forums, I just have that link copied to my clipboard, then when I make a post, I click the little Insert Picture Icon at the top of the posting box and paste in that link in the little popup that opens. That will insert the [img] tags around the link for me. Then when I click to post the thread, the images will show in the browser.

Same thing if you get a free server like Photobucket or Flicker. You get a link to where you uploaded the image and from there it's the same thing to insert it in a post as if I were hosting it.
