Anyone here live in the DC area?

I'm going to be in Washington, DC on 6/21 for the week (driving down from Maine). I have a LowePro mini trekker pack loaded with camera gear that I cannot travel without. Anyone aware of any security restrictions regarding bags/backpacks at museums, memorials, etc? Thanks.

they wont allow backbacks near the washington monument and and have restrictions on sizes for the backs. Be prepared to pull stuff out a lot if you go into most museums, capitol building ect...they had a lot of security up...no tripods near the white house or major gov't buildings.

they even had a check at the gardens...i didnt quite get that one...blow up some flowers?

it wasnt too too bad...ive seen worse, but the only place i couldnt have my bag was the Washington Monument, it just got checked a lot other than that
