My girlfriend and I recently started our own business with this first client we booked back in February. We loved our first wedding but havent decided on sticking to weddings only yet as we love so many other styles.

The couple getting married was Jonathan and Ellen and I cant thank them enough for trusting us with such a special day, especially being that it was our FIRST. We spent months preparing for this and the big day was just as intense, but actually more fun, as we expected...if not more.

From the first photograph until the last it was simply an amazing experience.

P.S. Since our first we've joined with an experienced Professional team as apprentice shooters so we are getting more wedding experience under our belts.

Here are just a few of our (and the couples) favorites:

I've been lurking on these forums for some time now amazed at the work of others and very skeptical to show our work but I decided to grow some b@lls and post away.

I would love to hear your thoughts on our images!

thanks!

PS. I've decided to change the original pics as they didnt seem to do any justice.

Hmm..I dont' like it when people don't reply...cuz it's happen to me..so I will reply to this..I am not the most experienced but hey, I do have an opinion...

1. I really like the shot, but, those light flares in the background really pull away from the shot...I would clone those babies out of there..

2. I like it...It's fashionable.

3. hmm..I would keep it, but not sure how people feel about seeing their backsides...

4. laughing or crying? did you get a shot more to the front of her?

5. is thst cropped? if so..undo it. If no..then crop it to around their hands and leave it at that...

6 to end..I like...all inall, I like them...now hopefully some others will reply...

Thanks for the input Rafeket... and yes I dont like it when people reply either, lol now I'm worried.

in #4 she was crying and yes we have few more of her.

#5 was not cropped but I assume the head cutting off is a bit of an issue?

Thanks again for the comments.

I hope you managed to get some 'front-on' shots with faces. It's hard to give you C&C on these because, other than the flower ones, they're poorly posed. I see that you were not the main OP (well, i hope you weren't) which would explain why all we see is backs of heads etc. This also explains why you havent received many comments. The posing is not standard. It's hard to say good things or offer improvement when you're pics are third person left behind.

Technically it looks good, but I'm lacking the connection with the Bride and Groom. I see you have some pictures, but no one grabs me. Lots of close crops and details, but as a viewer I want to connect with the couple you shot.

I just visited your website. Some really nice images over there. Good lighting, nice angles and I like your PP too.

But, the images posted here are not upto mark. More of backs, flowers, hands and less of B&G. Also odd crops and angles.

Damn, the only ones of them that I'd even show the B&G are the last 2. And even then, bit of crop adjustment and PP is needed. Were you the main OP?

I've changed some of my orginals to show them...

Hmmm... that bad huh? About the main OP yes and no, we both shot the entire wedding from different angles but niether of us had the role of main or secondary.

Like I said this was our first wedding so we both know there is much room for improvement.

Hmmm. I don't know if it's just me or even if it is PC for me to say this but number 3 is not the most flattering pose for the bride. I think the wide angle may have stretched a face that is already quite long resulting in a caricature look. Looking at the other samples i can see that the brides chin is not really that elongated.

The feedback you received is gold!.....if you had never posted these images you would not know how important it is to shoot tons of B&G.....and you can never take too many of the Bride.....I'm still learning too...thank for the post!

"Since our first we've joined with an experienced Professional team as apprentice shooters so we are getting more wedding experience under our belts."

Great decision!! You have lots of potential. Find out names of respected wedding photographers and view their work. Search Amazon for good books on wedding photography, by people like Bambi Cantrell. Join an association of professional photographers (search google). I am a member of PPA, which offers liability insurance, a subscription to their magazine, etc.
I don't want to critique every image, but watch composition, learn to see what's in the background (for instance, #5 -- one's eye is led straight to the headless woman's bosom).
Good luck!

The 8 pictures you have posted are not your best ones. I saw over 8 good ones in the gallery on your website. The best one in the gallery is the detail shot of the brides hair. #3 is not very flattering for the bride. her chin is all out of wack.

Hi,

Good job...I like your style and your photos with the exception of #3 above. To me shooting at this angle is unflattering to the bride and makes her chin seem very pointed. In the other photos she is very pretty.

Also, your B&W conversion seemed very dark on my monitor?
