Yep..this weekend we will do their engagement shots...but his tux is actually being altered to be shorts...

I really cannot view this in my mind...

I hope he has nice legs...:D

Wow, that's a new one for me. Are you saying that everything else about his tux will be the same, except the slacks are now shorts? Will he still be sportin' the black shoes and socks?;)

At one point in my life, I spent a lot of time in Bermuda. I was amused to no end to see business men walking downtown Hamilton in their business suits and briefcases, wearing bermuda shorts and long socks. After a while, I got used to seeing these grown up school boy uniforms and I kind of liked it. Same thing when I lived in Nova Scotia. Many people there, as a nod to their ancestors, get married and buried with a piper and kilts. I love a guy in a kilt and you will get used to the tuxedo with shorts. ???? I hope, I think, maybe, I hope so?

I can honestly say I've never encountered THAT. Would really love to see some pics of it!

From what I understand...it is a full tux..shoes socks and all..but the pants are being cut to shorts...I kinda thought..wow, interesting...but now that it is closer I am thinking...how do I make this elegant and beautiful...

Well..for the engagement I believe he is wearing jean shorts..

I will post a few when I get them done...

I like the idea of Bermuda..never ever thought of that...

I just posted a reply that went to cyberspace, so i hope it doesn't end up here twice. What about getting a full length shot of them and hiding the fact that he is wearing shorts? (They may regret their decision in a few years and be happy for a few more traditional shots.) Pose him standing with legs slightly spread, angled into her so that only one leg extends forward for the world to see. Pose a flower girl (clothes are usually "bigger") in front of that leg for cammoflauge, or even the ring bearer AND the flower girl for extra insurance. Pose everyone else around that set up. If he is close to her and his shoulders are angled properly and there is balance on both sides of the bride and groom, it should look ok and you will have gotten a shot that gives a more traditional look, all in the name of variety, of course. Or saving him from himself. Or whatever.

In my opinion Lisa, if he got them made into shorts, he seems to be the "goofy" type. He seems to be the kind of guy I would want to go out and shoot.

Do funny-style poses that will accent his personality. Of course, for more formal poses, you can always grab the waist up if you wanted.

I would probably just go with the feeling of the day and the emotions radiating off of him. Play along with his mood and enjoy the shoot :)

Actually, I see a pose now ...

Dead-on to the camera, legs spread about 1 foot further apart than shoulder-with. Have him tilt his head down as if he's looking at his pants, but then have him look up at you.

Tell him to do the "Uh oh" face and have him put his hands over his mouth like "whoops".

I think it would be hilarious to do that!

Bryan, love that...and I will use it...

Sue that also...It could be a full shot, yet "appear" as if he did not have shorts on.
