I made this with the intention to have it printed 5x5, on regular photo paper to give out sometimes instead of a biz card or to leave in wedding shops. What do you guys think?

My eye doesn't know where to look. Could be a good promo.

If you'd like an opinion from someone planning a wedding, I am and I would pick up that card. If only because you found something more interesting to do with those stupid "I DO" letters... I hate those things, but that's a cute picture that kinda makes me want them. I like the card.

I think it's perfect. You've put together a great collection of images in a compact format. I think it has to potential to generate a lot of business for you!

So you hate the "I DO" letters, but like what I did with them? Or you hate them any way they are done?? I have not seen them done any other way. I thought it was a new idea.

Thanks guys for the feedback. It was hard to pic what went on the card and what didn't. Many of the photos I wanted to put on there didn't make it because of the way they had to be cropped to fit.

I think it's really nice! Great job! A couple shots look a little under (like the brick shots) but otherwise it's really nice. With the black border, the more colour in the middle the better!

Very nice.

I would even make a business card out of the "Just Married" picture

If there is any one image that you guys think should go please comment on it. Its easy to switch stuff out. I am planning to also use this same template with some engagement photos and some portrait stuff

well, the picture of the couple on the bed dancing stuck out at me as a picture that didn't quite fit the the rest? I dunno, it's just an initial impression and didn't think it ruined the card at all, and I'm sure other would react differently so I didn't mention it.

I think it's a great idea and yours looks very nice! I do a senior portrait postcard every year to mail out to students and it looks a lot like this. I have gotten very positive feed back on it, people like to see different poses and backgrounds.

I've never seen the "I Do", I think it's cute, might have to try it tomorrow.

The "I DO" its simply wooden letters I picked up at a craft store and then painted white

By the way Lin-z, what program did you make that on? The one I use is really old and I want to update.

Lindsi.. I have only ever seen the "I DO" letters sitting on a cake table before (which I'll admit I thought was cute the first time I saw it, too, but it seems to be everywhere now). Maybe brides stole them as decor from photogs doing this? I do really like them the way you used them.

Also, the only photo in the bunch that stands out to me as only so-so is the middle one on the top row. Personally I would probably swap it out since judging by the rest of your pics, there are likely lots of alternates!

Cool.

Do you think the middle one is like that because it is a little under exposed?

My daughter-in law just came over and I showed this to her. Her response was, "Wow, that would be great for thank you cards". Not a bad idea. She is expecting a new baby soon so now she wants something like this with baby pix for her anouncements. Thanks for the idea.

How about the progression of a wedding, say from the morning make-up sessions thru the ceremony and reception to the point where they leave?

EXCEPT that you use a different couple for each picture

I think it's great the way it is and to be honest, I wouldn't like it if it were a progression throughout the day. Because, I'd know what to expect somewhat as I went to the next picture. Personally, I love the jumping on the bed shot because it shows that any couple who hires you has the freedom to relax and be themselves. It speaks volumes of you as a photographer and for this reason, I would keep it.

Thats why I put it there ;)

I made it on CS2... I had some help from a friend of mine that is a graphic designer on how to make the template

I think its too busy. the card would be more effective if you pick the best one and made it the main photo on the card and then add the info at the bottom.

I am interested in showing more than one image though

Lin-z... I figured that's why you put it there and I don't think it's too busy at all. In fact, I think it was done quite tastefully and the colors and images have a way of flowing that isn't distracting at all. It's quite easy to go from photo to photo and i would definitely pick this up!

I respecfully disagree - it's the image that most caught my eye. The resst of the photos are elegant and beautiful, but that one shows that you have a sense of humor! Sure I could nit-pick if I really tried, but I think it's perfectly marketable the way it is!

Do you guys know of any place, or would recommend any place that will print a 5x5 post card? I am going to have some of these printed on regular photo paper just for the first round, but I would love to do some actual post cards.

I believe MPIX does that type of stuff.

I am planning to order these on their matallic photo paper, but it does not look like they offer post cards in 5x5

Get them printed 10x10, 4 per print and cut them yourself.

Or two of them on a 8x10.

Hey, I really like that..

Do you do any bridal shows?

That would be great to hand out, with your business info on the back also...

How did you create it...did you use a program or just PS'd it.

I like it alot...great images too..

Lin-z

Lin-z

I did it on CS2... I am planning to leave these in bridal shops, gift shops, hair salons, any place that future brides might be interested in picking up something like this..

Good ideas...

I have had some brochures made up from Vista print, I plan on leaving around a few places...Plus to hand out at the bridal show...

Looking for something cute to give the brides too..tired of bubbles, candy etc.

we have time (Jan) but we want to start now to build up.

I heart Vista print. :D

And I think this is a very nice promotional card. I do similar ones for senior pics.

I still have not found anyone that prints a 5x5 post card

liza

Elongate the card a bit to a 5x7 instead of 5x5. Vista prints 5x7, and Lord knows the price is certainly right. Or, if nothing else, add some empty space at the bottom of them, order 5x7's, and slice off the bottom two inches with a proper paper cutter.
