Another local wedding fotog sent me this interesting little link. It's a 10 question quiz to see just HOW much you REALLY do know about the wedding tradition.

I am embarrassed to say that I only got 5/10. Not all the answers are what you think, so choose wisely before making the selection. Have fun group! :D - Stu

I missed 3, 6 and 8. But I'm not a wedding shooter so I have an excuse.
... and if I knew the diamond ring was just a clever marketing ploy, I would have given her a refrigerator or something else practical.

you btter not think that vacuum cleaners and other appiliances are good anniversary gifts!!!No. That would be impractical since she would never use them. Best one so far was a year's worth of coupons at Jiffy Lube so I don't have to change the oil in her car anymore.
By the way Kathy, how did you do on that quiz?

LOL!!! Thats hilarious! but the coupons are great!!! I hate going an paying for that!!! i'd rather pay for my pedicure- thats definitly worth 30 bucks!
8 out of 10, but I don't remember which ones I missed now...

... and if I knew the diamond ring was just a clever marketing ploy, I would have given her a refrigerator or something else practical. There have been a couple of shows lately on the diamond trade that pretty much ruined it for my wife as she vows never to buy a diamond again. Diamonds are a very bloody business.
And I'm sure she would have said yes just the same...NOT.. lol ;) just kidding...but you btter not think that vacuum cleaners and other appiliances are good anniversary gifts!!!:)
Ok, so it wasn’t a vacuum, but a dish washer and i thought I was being a real nice guy and she would love it as we had none at that time. Boy, did i misread those tea leaves.

9/10 here too. But some of my correct answers were for the wrong reasoning. 2 and 8 were related, but I got the time period wrong.
What about 10? Do you charge more for wedding coverage than other services? Is it just because you can, Bridezilla factors, or something else?
I think there is a premium due to time spent on the services outside of the actual ceremony and reception. Although the actual events are the pressure points, there's perhaps more investment in time pre and post event than other photo services.
What do you think?

I do charge about 3x as much for wedding coverage by the hour than for portrait coverage, but because it's 3x more busy and stressful! I think it's fair. However, my prints are the same price for either.
