Which eye are you use to see thru the view finder?
Left or right?
I am a left-eye.
Most of my friends are right-eye.
How about you all?

Neither. Could that be the problem with my photos? :?

Left eyed.
Right handed.
Left footed.
No wonder I am so confused ...

Left eyed... my nose gets stuck on the edge of the camera if I use my right eye! Besides that.. I can use my right eye to make sure no one is sneeking up on me!

Neat poll. :) I use my third eye. Just kidding. I'm a righty. I'm totally right sided with everything. If I had to rely on my left side for anything, I'd have a problem managing anything.[/u]

I'm with you. Other than to open the car window - I have no idea what my left hand is for!

right eye.
I was thinking the other day, and wondering if everyone has this or if my eyes are just screwed, but one of my eyes (the right) shows the world slightly more saturated than the other....... how about y'all?

i use both eyes (not at once)... when one eye gets too used to the camera, i switch. otherwise i can't see straight when i'm done taking pictures.

Left eyed, left eared (i.e. always have the telephone on my left ear) but right handed. 8) I can remember someone started the same poll a few months ago.

Maybe you are slightly color blind on one eye?! I've never heard about something like that. :?

could be. It's only a very slight difference and is most noticable outside in sunlight.
Does anyone else notice this?

colors seem to be equal on both of my eyes. I use my right eye to photograph, I'm too afraid I'll have the backdial on and that I will rotate it with my nose.

Right eye almost exclusively. On the odd occasion I have tried to use my left eye I seen to have trouble even locating the eyecup with it

I am a right eye all the way, I have a weak left eye, which would be pointless.
in fact I am right all the way.

Right eye all the time. I'm unable to even find the viewfinder with my left eye!!! :)

Left eye.
Left handed, left footed, left everything. I even eft my heart in San Francisco  <ducking throw veggies>
Funny thing is I am left dominant in every sport except golf. When I first started playing at the tender age of 12, the pro didn't believe that anyone could play properly south paw. Had to paly right or go home. Seems to work OK.

Right eye. I'm also right-everything'ed. Good thing, too. If I was left-eyed, I'd have problems looking through the view finder because I can't squint my right eye closed while leaving the left open. That's a result from when I was hit in the head with a baseball bat (accidentally, of course!) as a kid.

Left. But I'm trying to get used to using the right eye so I can keep both open.

Left eye - right handed. Surprised to see so many lefties - always thought I was weird - well maybe i still am! Seriously, I think my left eye is dominant and it just doesn't feel right when I use my right eye. Colors look different, too. Hate my nose resting on the LCD screen, though.

I didn't take the poll because I use both ... right probably more predominatly but left when I really want to see what I'm shooting (I see more detail from my left eye)
Also, as someone else said, using both doesn't mean your eyes get blurry after being stuck on the viewfinder for a long time.

it depends for me. I have a lazy eye thing going on ot depends on which eye feels better at that particular distance at that particular day. This goes for everything from photoshop to video games for me though, I can't really look through both eyes at once.

Have you calibrated your eyes recently. Don't use the websites that show you a strip of gray boxes, make sure to use the digital calibration tools. :P

I haven't, but I always assumed they wouldn't work for me as I am halfbreed scum - half arrogant yank, half stubborn pommy wanker :D

Get a spider, and stick it on top of your eye :D

actually I'm not sure I got that right, but I think pom, or pomm or pomme - don't know how to spell it - is Aussie slang for and english person as "yank" is for americans.
i may have got it wrong though as I don't have any australian blood and I've never been there.
As for calibrating my eyes - I'm not too keen on the idea of voluntarily placing a spider in close proximity to my face, let alone on my eye  I think I'll stick with the imbalance.

I'm glad this thread was posted.
I was a right eye person, but today I decided to try using my left eye...
I really liked it! I can get a better view in the viewfinder, and I find I can hold the camera steadier this way.
Awesome!

It was a troubling reveleation when I realized that I used my left eye in the viewfinder because I see the world with my left eye - despite being right handed. I have two functioning eyeballs, but I can't seem to see the world through my right eye.
Does the world look different from the right eye?

There are already too damned many things to think about when shooting a picture: mode, aperture, shutter speed, lens, focal length, depth-of-field, direction of light source, shadows, subject, framing, white balance, tripod or not, single shot, burst (high or low), AI focus or not, AF mode, and so forth.
Now I'm supposed to decide which eye to use?
Where did I put that G2? :?

belmondo, You're doing it all wrong. I mean what's the point of getting all this expensive camera equipment if you have to do all that work.
You're wasting your money if you don't have it all set to auto mode. Let the camera do the hard work so you don't have to - that's how all the pros do it.
